MY VISION

Growing up in South Africa I always envisioned myself as a global artist, not only being inspired by what the global entertainment industry calls great leaders, such as my music icon Beyonce but South African media personalities like Bonang Matheba and Mama Basetsana Khumalo. These strong Black beautiful Industry leaders solidified and engraved in me that it can be done. You can achieve that vision God imprinted in your heart. So, coming into an industry that is dominated by people who don’t look like me nor share a familiar background, I am taking up that position as an African artist saying that it is our time, the only person you need to prove that you are worthy of taking up that space is yourself, all bets are off!!! Let the world catch up by coming along this journey with me through my music. I am a musician, I make music that is true to my identity, true to my African modernity and I hope you share and enjoy this journey with me.

MY MISSION

BOOK LERATO

Those who know Lerato, know a fun vibrant yet classy woman. Many are yet to truly meet Lerato the artist. Growing up and having to adhere to societal standards of what a female artist should look like or should do or wear, not only restricted my artistry but me as person. Now, having evolved through life experiences, my mission is to show the youth especially young women that you really don’t need to add in all the fluff, dumbing yourself down just to fit the mold. By being Lerato Music, I want you to not only see me as an artist, entertainer and media personality but an experience. My experience becomes your experience.
